Google je de naam Lieven Musschoot, dan lees je verschillende keren dat de Knokse interieurarchitect het ego van de designer niet belangrijk vindt. Lieven Musschoot dringt zichzelf niet op, toont zich integendeel een goede luisteraar die de kleinste details oppikt en pas na nauwkeurig aftasten van de wensen en verlangens vertaalt hoe hijzelf een en ander ziet. Musschoot ontwerpt totaalconcepten, waarbij hij niet alleen de ruimte indeelt, het meubilair en de wandbekleding vormgeeft, maar zelfs het soort broodmandjes en tafelnappen ontwerpt. Wie met hem werkt kiest voor alles of niks. Afgestudeerd met grote onderscheiding liep zijn carriere evenwel niet van een leien dakje. De praktijk na de studies viel anders uit dan voorgesteld. Om den brode ging Lieven in de horeca werken. Uit noodzaak, want datgene waarvoor Musschoot opgeleid was werd toen nog niet serieus genomen. Vreemd genoeg was het net zijn werk in de horeca dat tot de latere doorbraak zou leiden. Onder de indruk van de inrichting van een juwelenzaak in de Brugse binnenstad, nam niemand minder dan Sergio Herman contact op met de ontwerper. Lieven Musschoot tekende het eigenzinnige ontwerp van Pure C en de inrichting van Oud Sluis en ook dichter bij huis ontwierp hij het interieur voor enkele toonaangevende restaurants zoals Restaurant Lieven, Barsalon Rock-Fort, Tete Pressee, Escabeche (Knokke),... en ook in 2012 is het orderboekje al goed gevuld met drie restaurants, een discotheek, twee appartementen, twee woningen en een tandartsenpraktijk die op de planning staan.

L'ancienne église abbatiale de Saint-Hubert, élevée au rang de basilique en 1927, a été classée par Arrêté royal, le 22 février 1938, puis par décret du Gouvernement wallon, le 4 juillet 1990; elle est inscrite sur la liste du Patrimoine exceptionnel de Wallonie du 1er juillet 1993. Souvent cité en exemple, ce monument prestigieux n'a toutefois pas encore fait l'objet d'une étude monographique exhaustive. Une exposition a permis, en 1997, de faire le point de nos connaissances sur l'ancienne abbatiale, tant du point de vue architectural que de celui de sa décoration et de son mobilier; le présent ouvrage reflète cet état de la question mais ne constitue en aucune façon l'étude définitive qui reste encore à écrire. L'exposition fut le résultat d'une collaboration entre la Ville de Saint-Hubert et son centre Pierre-Joseph Redouté, la Division du Patrimoine (DGATLP) du Ministère de la Région wallonne, la fabrique d'Eglise de la basilique de Saint-Hubert et la Gestion culturelle de l'Université libre de Bruxelles.
